Next morning, we woke up at 7.30am (Bangkok time) and we had our free breakfast at the hotel restaurant before we set off to the Chatuchak Weekend Market! It was also famously known as Jatujak and JJ.
The breakfast was rather bland with a few main dishes available. It is buffet style but pretty simple - fried rice, noodles, cooked cabbage, sausage, egg, fruits, bread. Apparently the "buffet breakfast" comes free with every one night stays at this hotel.
Chatuchak Weekend Market is open from 9am to 6pm. We were surrounded by the smells of all types of foods in the deep frying making. Even strange looking ones! We were tucked away in the corner of the Chatuchak Market for their fried chicken and sticky rice. It is managed by the cool guy with the shade.
Our shopping bag specially brought from Carrefour, Singapore.
But it only managed to survive for two days at Chatuchak Weekend Market due to over exhaustion. :P
Our buy from Chatuchak Weekend Market.
Dear spotted his favourite Mini Cooper while we are on our way to Siam Discovery Centre for our Oishi Grand Japanese Buffet.
Oishi Grand Buffet offer more than 200 choices of Japanese, Chinese, European and Seafood items.
There are 4 prices according to time of the day. The highest price is 765 Thai Baht per head at 5pm-9pm. And that is my recommended period as they will provide full courses of delicious food.
It is abit more expensive than average but it is definitely worth the try.
We wanted to take more pictures but the waitor said that photography was prohibited, so we couldn't do some more free promotions for them.
Most of us knew that the first A&W store opened at Dunearn Road in 1966. It was the first fast food from US to step into Singapore and later expanded throughout the island and including the zoo. Due to competition from other fast food chain, business was affected. In 1999, the outlet at the Singapore Zoo was closed down. By 2002, there were only 7 outlets around the island. So A&W finally closed in 2003.
So what is left now are just cans and cans of Root Beer that we can buy from the supermarkets.
Our buy from Siam Discovery Centre and Street Stalls.
