Bangkok Day 4

~Day 4~

Pratunam Market (Wholesale)
Platinum Mall (Wholesale)
Chinatown

The view of Twin Tower Hotel entrance view.
It was our last day in Bangkok, so we decided to skip our hotel breakfast in the morning to do a last minute shopping spree!

Pratunam market open daily from morning until late afternoon. It is proved to be the great place for clothes at rock bottom prices. However you have to purchase more than three pieces to get the benefit of the wholesale price.
We enjoy walking around checking for quality and bargains.

We also went to the Platinum Complex across the road. It is an up-market version but with air-conditioning and wider aisles.
Platinum Fashion Mall caters especially to wholesale clothing, selling a similar range of clothing to the Pratunam Market. The mall has six floors which are filled with small outlets. Most of them specialising in women's clothing and fashion accessories. Since this is a wholesale mall, the items are at very reasonable prices provided we purchase larger quantities, usually three items and up.

Our buy from Pratunam Market and Platinum Mall.

We went back to the hotel after our last minute shopping at Pratunam Market and Platinum Mall to freshen up and do our last packing for our baggage before we headed to Chinatown for our late lunch.

We order their longan ice blended, tom yam soup, fried rice, fried squid as well as their duck meat. Once again, we are not able to finish up all the dishes. What a waste.

We went back to the hotel to collect our baggage and went straight to the Suvarnabhumi airport by cab. Our flight is at 8.50pm but we reached the Airport at 4pm. It was too early to check in so we decided to chill out at Caffe Nero.

We ordered their iced mocha and iced cappuccino. Furthermore dear insisted to order one additional plate of duck meat to share. I am too full for that. And he managed to finish up all by himself.

The airport charged us a hefty fees of S$108.67 for our overweight bags of 11.5 kilo! It was THB 250 per kilo which is equivalent to S$10 per kilo. We were alarmed! Luckily we were allowed to pay by credit card as we didnt carry much cash with us at that point of time. Each passenger is entitled to check in up to 20KG of baggage and a limit of 7KG of cabin baggage applies for each passenger.

I think we must start purchasing a bag that is small enough to keep us from the temptation of overpacking. :P

We had our quick dinner at DQ before we took our flight back to Singapore.

We reached Singapore Changi Airport at 12.05am in the morning and dear's dad and his brother came to pick us up.

Goodbye bangkok!

Hope to see you soon again...
