SCGL Festival 2008

29th August to 28th September 2008
6pm to 11pm daily

For the past few years, I've never fail to visit the Chinese Garden during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Same goes for this year as well.
On Monday night after dinner, Dear families and I made a trip down to look at the beautiful lanterns on display.

The whole of Chinese Garden is inspired by the Beijing Olympics held earlier and also as a prelude to the F1 Grand Prix first night street race, it features a wide range of Hello Kitty and friends participating in various sporting races.

Thereafter, we headed to Chomp Chomp for supper session. For desserts, we ordered their assorted fruit platter for $16.80! It offers flavours of Watermelon, Strawberry, Longan, Mango, Kiwi, Nata De Coco, Tomato, Sea Coconut, and Pomeloes. The serving is real BIG but the six of us managed to finish it with no leftovers.

Mid-Autumn @ Clark Quay

Happy Mid - Autumn Festival to all~

Mid-Autumn @ Clark Quay

From 29 August to 14 September 2008, the public will be entertained with Nightly Stage Shows outside The Central Mall. Renowned entertainers will enliven the night with lively and vibrant performances by overseas cultural groups, games with a chinese theme.

The entertaining cultural performance all the way from China.

Wow. Look at the number of people there before the night falls!

Fountain court at the centre of the Quay. It is even bigger than the one in Bugis Junction. The atmosphere is mesmerizing at night. These warehouses have been converted to shops, restaurants and pubs, turning Clarke Quay into an entertainment, retail and dining area with foreign style. It was definitely a great place for couples and friends to chill out as there are many pubs located in that area.

There isn’t many lanterns but they are all very pretty and well-made.

That is our zodiac sign - Rabbit and Dog

Going off to Chinese Garden tonight. Do stay tune for more photos. :)

Marutama Ra-Men @ The Central

Marutama Ra-Men @ The Central

Would you pay $13 for a bowl of ramen with a thinly sliced pork belly and a seasoned egg?

Considering that it was only 2 bowls of ramen with an additional 2 sides, $30 (including GST) is heck of a lot to pay. Price is slightly on the high side. But nevertheless, it was superb!

Tasty soup base, QQ noodles and chashu that melts in my mouth.
Oishi!!

The thing about us Singaporeans is that once we see a queue, we automatically assume that the food has to be damn good. And that's the reason why we actually decided to queue up and give it a try.

For indecisive people like me, it was a good choice!

There are only 3 types of ramen on the menu - the original non-spicy and the spicy - both of which cost $12, and this "special" variety which has a stock made up of 7 different kinds of nuts, and costs $15.
Next, we can select the topping we want - there's char siu, seasoned egg, pork belly slices, seaweed and etc. These cost between $1 to $4.
They also serves some side dishes.

The restaurant also provides fried garlic and sesame seed, kept in a small container at the table to go along with the ramen.

They do provide free flow of ice cold water too.

I would probably love to visit their outlet again when i pop by The Central.
